LABOUR FEDERATION ON TRIAL.
TRAMWAYS UNION'S ATTITUDE.
For some time past a strong opinion has prevailed that the majority of the members of the Auckland Tramways Union ! were anxious that the union should sever its connection -with the Federation ot Labour. With a view to ascertaining the feeling of the members two meetings will be held on Tuesday, one in the morning for the evening shift, and the other in the evening for the morning shift. At the meetings & notice of motion will he considered to (lie effect that the union shall secede from the Federation of Labour, and that a secret ballot be taken, SO that members can vote on the question. The matter has aroused keen interest in the Tramways Union, and it is expected that the" members will attend the meetings in large numbers to take advantage of the opportunity of recording their views.
