PRICES AT LONDON SALES.

The following prices were realised at the wool sales yesterday for the fleece portions of the clips named:—Mount Palm, tip 13d, average 12|d; 3fimfenden, top lid, average 12|d. The Bradford wool market is quieter owing to the irregularity of the London i market. Holders are firm, and prices are unchanged. Practically no business i? be- I ing done. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited and Reduced, i havi received the following cablegram I from their London house under yesterday's ! date:—"Wool sales.—The market is steady. Quotations are unchanged fine© tho last telegram, except as regards greasy crossbred wool for * America; market weaker." FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKET. ( The . bad state of the weather has had the effect of curtailing business in the fruit find produce market during tho week, conlequently very little has been done in local fruit.- Best dessert apples from Port Albert are selling well, and Canterbury Stunners and Lord Wolseleys are ruling b'gh. Only limited consignments have reached the market from Tasmania, and on a lino this week was condemned on account of black spot. Local lemons have declined in price, with increased slu'pments from Sydney. Hothouse grapes are almost finished. Poor man oranges are now more plentiful. The Wimmera, from Sydney, landed about 1000 cases, consisting of mandarins, pines, and lemons. The demand was good, and an advance in prices ruled. The- Talune, from Karotonga, lias just arrived with approximately 10,000 cases of oranges and 3000 cases bananas. The market is fairly good, and payable values are anticipated. The potato market is .still very /inn, -with a further upward tendency. Some 12,000 sacks reached Sydney last week, and 5000 this week from New Zealand. The Monowai landed a fair supply on Thursday, and tho Raknnoa, due now, has further shipments for Auckland. At the moment of writing almost the whole of tho supplies are sold. Onions are very scarce and ruling high in price. Only small lots from Canterbury have reached the market, and require picking over before being sold. Poultry, on account of the prevailing wet weather, is short of requirements, and all lines sold well. Farmers' butter is scarce, and an advance in ireeh eggs took place yesterday.
