Each repetition of the bright musical farce-comedy, "Mrs. Bridget McSweeney," in His Majesty's Theatre, has been greeted by i i appreciative audience. The attendance was again large last evening, and a large house is expected to-night. " THE DANDIES." The rest of the selections in a big programme are all of uncommon interest, and included among these is the " Prelude and Fugue in A Minor" by J. S.Bach. DICKENS FESTIVAL. AUCKLAND LIEDERTAFEL. The Auckland Liodertafel will give the - second concert of tbo season in the Town Hall on Fridajf night next. The Liedestafel items on this occasion have been all specially selected from the latest popular compositions published in England, and will be of great variety, including such numbers aa Huzza" (Dudley Buck) and ' : Bv Babylon's Wave" (Gounod), The vocal soloists on this occasion will be Miss , , Ethel Rae, who secured the prize at the ■■■■■■.' last competitions, and Mr. Sidney Williamson, who comes from Christchurch, and is a baritone, of high Biding; Mr, H. After an extension of one week the entries for the forthcoming festival of the Auckland Competitions Society.close . tonight, and there 'will b© no further of per- >\ tunity for entering. I'ICTURE- ENTERTAINMENTS.

Large crowds attended Messrs, MacMahon and Lodder's Queen-street theatre at the various sessions yesterday. "The Midnight Wedding" was shown for the first tome, and at once proved a. great attraction. It is a beautifully clear picture, well-defined, and is remarkable for the delicate effects obtained. It reveals the hopeless - love-affair of a young superintendent engi-' ■:• neer for his employer's beautiful daughter. It tells without words how the re|ectsdlov«r ,_. allows an ungovernable fit/of: jealousy to . tempt him to use his expert knowledge to ' ' ' base purposes, and how he is saved from •» ; committing a crime by the influence of his mother. Another notable star attraction i will be introduced on Monday, when the '' "■ management will show for the first time to an Auckland audience a most gorgeous subject, entitled " The World Against Her." . • ,~, ■ Chief anions the films at present being screened at the King's Theatre is one do-' dieting the work in connection with the construction of the Panama Canal. The us'nal dramas and comedies are also included, and help to mako an attractive '§\ ensemble. . Many people have read R. D. Blackmoreiv' book, "Lorna Doone," but _the public now have an opportunity, by visiting the King George Theatre, of seeing the interesting episodes' of the story enacted before their eyes. Other films are ' ! i of good quality. "Home," a film which unfolds a simple vet interesting story, is attracting a great deal of attention at the Palace Theatre', but is only one of a very good series. Large audiences have been the rule lately. A "prize matinee" will be held at the Royal Albert Hall this afternoon.
