WHIST DRIVE AND DANCE.

The Yf'aitemnta. Bowling and Croquet Clubs held a joint whist drive and danco at the Masonic Hall, N'orthcote, on Thursday night, and, considering tSo unfavourable weather, there was a very good attendance. For the wli'nt drive 18 tables were occupied, the prize for the ladies being won by Mrs. Fitt, with ,i score of 134, and Mr. Moody won the men's prize with a score of 130. Twenty games were played. Mr. B. Van Veen acted as M.U., and Mrs. Hardy presented the prizes- After the cards tho ladies' committee provided, refreshment*, and the remainder of the evening was given up to dancing. Messrs. A. Campbell a.ad G. H. Lyon acted as M.C.'s for this part of the programme. Mr. Thoa. Coward oUieiated at the piano.
