CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.
London, May 2. The P. and 0. Company is making a claim for damages against the owners of the German barque Pisagua, by collision with which the company's liner Oceana was recently sunk in the English Channel.
The company alleges that a bad look-out was kept, and that the Pisagua took no steps to avert a collision.
The owners of the barque are entering a counter-claim for damages,
The German Maritime Court, which held an inquiry at Hamburg last month, into the circumstances of the collision between the Oceana and Pisagua, found that the Oceana had contravened the rules" of the road, and that the master of the Pisagua was not to blame for the disaster. The British inquiry has not yet concluded. *
