It is suggested that the directors' action in issuing the new capital is due to a, desire to checkmate operators who are seeking to control the company's stock. I - The Royal Mail Steamship Company is issuing £900,000 of ordinary stock, chiefly with a view to the development of its . connection in view of the approaching opening of j the Panama Canal.
