?W0 ARRESTS IN AUCKLAND. VFhile the steamer Aorangi was berthed tt the Wellington wharves recently, after W trip from Sydney, - a passenger named %>hel, who was going to San Francisco, Placed jewellery to the value of £60 in a "jit case, which he left in the rack in "*» cabin. He went on deck, and, on re- . ding below later, found that the concilia of the case had been taken. Subsequently the police were notified, iJl d yesterday, in Auckland, two men S4 »ed Robert Pomeroy and Norman Rigg, are suspected of the theft, were ®PPrehended by Detectives McMahon Cummings. One was arrested .in the ®ltflrnoon in Ponsonby, and the other as "9 «tepp e( j off the Rotor express. The ®«n will be brought before a magistrate WIS morning, when a remand will prob&b]y be applied for.
