AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. Th© ninth annual meeting of the Auckland Hockey Association was held at the Chamber of Commerce Rooms last ovening. The president (.Mr. Wm. Coleman) was in tho chair. \ < Tho u annual report and balance-sheet (which have already been published in our columns) wore adopted witnout discussion, and tho meeting proceeded to th© election of othoers for the ensuing year. Mr. Eliot Davis, in thanking tho associa- I tion for re-electing him as a vioo-president, 1 intimated that his firm would present in his father s name a challenge cup to replace tho trophy given by his father as the association a senior challenge cup, which had already been won. In regard to the proposed pavilion on the Kemuora Recreation Grounds, it was stated that the committee had been authorised to borrow £275 by £1 debentures carrying interest at six per cent. Messrs. Coleman and Davis hud guaranteed this sum, and about £140 worth of these debentures had already been taken up. _It was resolved that a ball bo given in th© J own Hall on the evening of May 31, and the members of the oxecutivo committee, together with th© delegates from tho various • lube, were appointed a joint committco »to EWiko the necessary arrangements. College Rifles, Mount Eden, and Epsom Methodist Clubs.

UNIVERSITY CLUB. The annual general meeting of the University Hockey Club was well attended. MrJ. P. Grossmann presided. Tho Auckland Association had consented to present at the meeting the banner for the senior championship, won last season by the club's senior team, also the caps won by the team-' The association was represented by its president, Mr. W. -Coleman, Mr. Eliot Davis (vice-president), and Mr. H. D. Hill (chairman of tho executive). Before making tho presentation, Mr. Coleman referred to the high place hockey has attained in the field of sport, due mainly to the clean way in which the gamo has been played. Ho congratulated the senior team on its record for the past season, and formally presented to the captain (H. B. Speight) tho championship banner and tho caps. Messrs. Davis and Hill also addressed tho meeting. Tho following wero elected as officers of tho elub for the ensuing year Patron, Sir G. M. O'llorke; president, Mr. J. P. Grossmann; club captain, Mr. H. B. Speight; general committee, Messrs. King' Row©, Collis, and Jacobsen; secretary, Mr! J. B. Reynolds; treasurer, Mr. A. M. Gould' ing; selection committee, Messrs. Speight Collis, and King; delegates to the Auckland Association, Messrs. King and Rowe. The Auckland Hockey Referees' Association will hold the first of its fortnightly meetings on Monday evening. The association has.several] vacancies in its membership. Persons who wish to join should' communicate with Mr. R. Dykes, Amateur Sports Club. It, is hoped that older players will rally: to tho support of tho association. The North Shore Club will hold a practico on its ground at Dovonport to-day, at 2.30 p.m- All members and intending members should attend.
