ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.

PERFECT" weather favoured trainers on .Saturday morning, and a fair amount of interesting work was accomplished. All the tracks were available, but with the exceptions set forth most of the gallops were registered on the middle grass track.

Wee Olga skipped over six furlongs in im. 19s. on the inner grass.

Soultoria, on the same track, covered a circuit in lm. 47 2-ss.

Maxwell galloped six furlontfs on the sand in im. 205.. having Maherio for a companion over the last five furlongs.

The Auckland Racing Club's Easter Handicap candidates, Goldsize and La Reina, I attracted some attention as they struck i out over a mile, won by the former, in i lm. 42 3-ss. La Reina ran on the outside, i and covered most ground, finishing up a ; couple of lengths behind her companion. Another Easter Handicap candidate, in Antoinette, easily held Worcester over six furlongs, encompassed in lm. 18s. The two-year-old Bleriot was not extended to run four furlongs in 545. Miss Avalanche and Ash by lined up to run live furlongs, but the latter broke away .and then waited for the filly, who covered the distance in lm. 6 3-ss. St. Amans, with a big weight in the saddle, traversed a circuit of the sand in 2m. 7 3-55.. without being over-exerted. Sea Elf was given useful pacing on the inner grass. Prophet, also on the inner grass, disposed of a couple of circuits briskly. Jack Delaval sprinted six furlongs smartly, the last, five in lm. Cs. . Collier Lad ran six furlongs in lm. a l-ss. Prince Merriwee was much slower away than Maui Nina, but caught .the latter and beat him over five furlongs in lm. in. Muskewai displayed pace over five furlongs, run in lm. 3 3-55., beating the two-year-old Indulgence, who finished up in lm. 5 1-5?. , , Allworthy dashed over three furlongs on the sand in 40s. . , . Monoline sprinted half a milo nicely in 51 2-5s Solitudo registered 50s. for a spin over four furlongs. , . 4 Royal Irish cut out six furlongs In lm. 195., having Battle Abbey, the two-year-old brother to Bronze, as a companion over the last five furlongs. . First Wairiki. an Waster Handicap horse, was assisted by Wairr.a over the last five of six furlongs, disposed of in lm. 20 Z-os. Laverna, the Spalpeen two-year-old filly, dashed over four furlongs.in 51s. Salvannic failed to pace it with Hazelton over half a mile, run in 50 l-ss. Master Wairiki moved freely over six lurlongs in lm 20s. . . Lonesome and Centenary disposed of halt a-milo in 52 2-ss, the pair coming home on terms. . . , Spalflsh and The Celt were associated over six furlongs, but the former shone to most advantage in lm 235. . , Tobias and a stable mate. Nelva. sprinted four furlongs in 50 4-ss, with little to choose between the pair at the. finish. Butter showed the way to Lannacost over half a-mile in 50 1-5?. Master Soult was an absentee from the tracks. THE FENCERS. Don Qucx (A. McFlynn) and Crispineer (J. Deerey) set out over five hurdles, and fenced in line style. Crispineer beating his companion. The Takapuna gelding Bremen (A. Morrow) negotiated a round of the hurdles proficiently. Hautere f.i. Pinker). Webfoot, (J. Deerey), and Dunborve i.\. J. McFlynn), started for a round of the big country. The trio jumped the sod wall safely, but at the first fence of the stand double Dunborve refused, and got rid of SfcFlynn. The other paid went on, and after clearing the stone wall and old water jump safely, were joined by Loch Fyno (V. Coleman), The trio went over the hill and finished up over the stand water-jump, and the stone wall. At, tho water-jump Dunborve joined in. and cleared the obstacle safely. At the finish Hautero was in front of Webfoot, with Loch Fyno close up. Dinkum (W. Chaafe), Bully (F. Speakman).. and Tui Cakobau (A. Rae) were companions over a round of the steeplechase countrv. Dinknm and Tui Cakobau raced together throughout, but Bully quickly tailed behind, end jumped wretchedly. Tui Cakobau an* Dinkum showed up well, the former eventually finishing a couple of lengths to the good, with Bully over a furlong behind.
