MEETINGS.
EDEN TERRACE ROAD BOARD. AT last evening;'a 1 meeting of the I,den Terrace Road Board, there were present,: Messrii. G. A. Coles (chairman), T. \V. McLaughlin, P. McElwain, L. Dodds, and K. A. Good. Messrs. L. Dodds and T. "W. McLaugrhlan were appointed to represent the Board at the conference in regard to sanitary matters, which is to be held during the weekA resolution was agreed to for the raising of a £3500 loan for drainage works. Messrs. Dodds and MoLaucrhlan were appointed aa delegates to attend the conference which is to be held shortly by municipal bodies in regard to sanitary matters generally. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Coles, seconded by Mr. McElwain. that the Eden Terrace Eoad Board should borrow the sum of £17,000 for general street improvements, water mains' extensions. etc., and that application be made for the 'same to the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Depart/ ment for a term of 364 years by instalments extending over three or four years, and that all necessary legal steps should be taken for authorising the same by the necessary advertising and the poll of the ratepayers.
