Hughes wrote stating thai , as the result of a conference between '' 1 Major-General Godley and the association's , representatives, he was sending a circular to the four military districts suggesting that when drawing up programmes for camp sports the conditions and rules of the association be followed as much as pos- [ sible. Also informing them that amateurs , and professionals may compete .together, . provided the prizes are trophies. ; , ' ■■ The Amateur Athletic Union of Australasia notified that in reference to the sug- > gested visit of a Canadian team to Austra- ! . lia and New Zealand the president was drawing up a definite scheme, which would . be submitted to the association m <"»•'.■ course. , . . The union notified that the high jump/ , record of 6ft 1 3-16 in, established by L, a. Kelly (Victoria) at the last Australasia, championships, had been passed. . & / It was decided that Kerr's performance in the three-mile walk, of 27m. 125., be referred to the union for recognition as a record. Th'j following have been granted standards in connection with the Australasian | | championships:— R. Opie: 880 yds, E. Harding Tone mile, G. N. Hill; onemile walk, H. E. Kerr, W. Murray; threemile walk, H. E. Kerr, W. Murray.
