DEATH OF HON, E. BLAKE.

Ottawa, March 3. The death is announced of the Hon. Edward Blake, formerly AttorneyGeneral of Canada, and an Irish Nationalist M.P. of the House of Commons from 1892 till 1907. He was arbitrator in connection with the New Zealand Midland Railway Company's case against the New Zealand Government. He was aged 78.
The Hon. E. Blake was a Liberal member of the Canadian House from 1867 till 1891, and during a great portion of that time he was also a member of the Ontario House. He was Prime Minister of Ontario, and later Attorney-General of Canada. Though Canadian born, ho later crossed the Atlantic, and entered tb© House of Commons as an Irish Nationalist.
