PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS REGATTA.

NOTES AND COMMENTS. .Much interest is being taken in the Auckland Rowing Association's annual championships regatta, to be hold at Hellycr's Creek this afternoon. With pood entries, keen competition, and an excellent course, the gathering should be very successful. The place chosen for the regatta is admirable for spectators, as the shore forms a natural grandstand, giving a splendid view of the racing. Wharf at 1.45 p.m. Oarsmen who will compete in the first threo races on the programme will leave tho Hobson-strcet Wharf in tho launch Sea Wolf, at ono p.m. 'This evening tho Auckland Rowing Association will entertain the regatta competitors at a smoke concert in tho Federal Hall, starting at eight o'clock. Tickets may be obtained from tho members of tho, committee.

THE AUCKLAND CLUB. Mr. F. S. Gardner, the Auckland Rowing Club's active organiser, has now got well in hand the preliminary arrangements for the special grand concert to take place in the Town Hall on March 29, before His Excellency tho Governor ana His Worship the Mayor.- Tho following havo already signified thir intention of assisting: — •Misses Madoline and Elizabeth Knight, Lotitia Gardner, Daphne Knight, Herr Kaimund Potchotsh, Messrs. Jaarold Gregson, O. E. Farrow, F. R. Rayncr, Ripley, Alan McKlwain, T. Harris, W.'Aspinall, J. Ryan. A. Blakeloy. and the Lyric Four. Mr. G. J. Allen will officiate at the piano-. Tickets can bo obtained from all members of the club, and at Miss Gerti Campion's cigar divan, Queen-street.
