Resenting an increase in tramway fares a, mob attacked the gaol at Kingston and assaulted the Governor, his aide-de-camp attempting a rescue. A party of constables arrived on the scene and took refuge in a liquor saloon. From the saloon they fired a volley killing one and wounding 30. The mob then fled
