THE LABOUR PARTY.
THE fortnightly meeting of the Labour party was held last evening. There was a large attendance. The question, of selecting two delegates to the conference at Easter was disclosed, and a ballot for delegates resulted in the selection of Messrs. Black and Walsh." The formation, of a number of branches was decided upon, and it is hoped to be able to accomplish the matter in a month or six weeks, the executive being instructed to act with Professor Mills in establishing the branches. It was decided to ask the approaching conference to reaffirm the absolute independence of Labour, and the necessity of avoiding any. alliance with any other political party.
