THE 'FRISCO SERVICE.
THE TAHITI AT WELLINGTON. [Br TELEGRAPH.—PRES9 ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. The latest acquisition to the Union Company's fleet, the Tahiti, arrived in the harbour this morning from Sydney, en route to San Francisco, inaugurating the new Sydney-Wellington-San Francisco service, which she-will- maintain with the Aorangi and the Maitai. The vessel is of 7585 tons gross, and she has accommodation for 160 first-class and 60 second-class , passengers. She is fitted with refrigerating chambers of 100,000 cubic feet capacity, has a speed of 18 knots, and is reputed to be a good sea boat. ' On hoi run out from England she brought 350" immigrants to New South Wales. The Tahiti's passenger - accommodation seems quite satisfactory, the cabins being roomy and well ventilated. She should prove a popular ship in her new run.
