Cody, in a monoplane of his own invention, flew 255 miles at Aldershot for the Michelin Track Cup and a prize of £500. He maintained an average height of 1200 ft, and a speed of 51 miles an hour. During the last hour he had a continuous struggle with a gusty wind to maintain the machine's balance. On alighting, Mr. Cody was carried shoulder high to the garage.
