THE NE 'TEMERE DECREE.

Sir,ln fairness to your readers, both Catholic and Protestant, I trust you will kindly give immediate publicity to a brief reference to your report of the Christchurch Presbytery meeting. The :Rev. R. Wood told the meeting: "As a matter of fact the (Ne Temere) decree simply declared that no marriage was valid unless it was solemnised by tho Roman Catholic priest." As a matter both of fact and of law this'statement is utterly incorrect. Later Mr. Wood is reported to have said, "that mixed marriages had been valid for 300 years, but now they were absolutely null and void." The latter part of this sentence also is untrue. Sylvester Waters.
