London, October 6. A fire at Leicester destroyed St. George's Church and a six-storeyed factory covering 320 ft by 300 ft. ■■ The damage totals £100,000.
The church was crowded and a harvest thanksgiving service was proceeding, but the congregation dispersed, quietly, 'there being no sign of panic.
