RUSSIANS RELEASED.

"NOT "PETER, THE PAINTER." ' ; A NOLLE PROSEQUI has been entered in the case of the Russians, August Maren and Frederick Johnson, recently committed for trial in West Australia on a charge of conspiring to give false evidence against' a fellow-countryman, Enrest Drejer, at Kellerberrin. The detectives entertained a suspicion that the men were anarchists, and that Maren was " Peter, the Painter," who was connected with the Houndsditch affray, but subsequent inquiries showed there was no foundation for the suspicion. The case appears to have been the outcome of a quarrel between Maren and Drejer over a Russian girl, whom the latter brought out to marry. Maren and Johnson, who were in custody about two months, and who deny any connection with anarchists, have been discharged, and Drejer and the Russian girl are to be married. '
