LABOUR DAY SPORTS. I

The entries close for .the athletic events of the Labour Day sports this evening. Athletes are requested to note that no nominations will be accepted without the necessary nomination fee.

PIONEER , HARRIER CLUB.

The Pioneer Harriers brought the season to a, close on Saturday afternoon, with an invitation run from Mr. J. Barnes's, Albertstreet. Leaving Mr, Barnes's residence the pack proceeded to the top of Mount Albert, and after a look round the leaders decided on making tho straightest course to Blockhouse Bay. After a short spell here tho pack followed the water's edge to Green Bay, from where they turned in a homeward course, and kept up a steady pace. Much rough country was crossed on the route. but coming on to the road the outing finished with -a fast run home. Afterwards the members did full justice to the many good things provided. The captain, on behalf of the club, thanked their host and hostess for their hospitality. Mr. Barnes suitably replied. The club desire to thank tflose who have taken an interest in the sport in thug short but enjoyable season.
