THE COMING ELECTIONS.
CANDIDATES FOR NELSON SEAT.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Nelson, Thursday. The candidates for tho Nelson seat already announced are Messrs. H. Atmore, W. J. Moffatt (Independent Liberals), W. S. Hampson and J. Bishop (Opposition). Mr. John Graham, tho sitting member, is understood to bo seeking re-election, and has promised a definite announcement in a few days. THE WAITEMATA CONTEST. A meeting of Mr. W. J. Napier's supporters was held in the Esplanade Tearoom, Devonport last evening, Mr. Considine being voted to the chair. Mr. Napier explained his reasons for again contesting the Waitemata seat, and referred to the change in the political feeling of the community. A committee consisting of 106 members was formed to work the various divisions in the Devonport borough between Stanley Bay and North Head. The secretary announced that a 'large committee of ladies was being formed, and sub-committees had already been organised in the various out districts. Delegates from Long Bay, Greenhithe, Albany, and Northcote brought favourable reports from those districts. A resolution was carried thanking Mr. Napier for again coming forward to contest Waitemata.
Mr. Alex. Harris, an Opposition candidate for the Waitemata electorate, will address the electors in the new Foresters' Hall, Birkenhead, on Monday evening.
