The object of the meeting was to consider the offer of a piece of land suitable for a manse. It was decided to purchase the allotment, and half the money was promised in the hall. The . launch Elsie, with: a large number of passengers aboard, went aground on the mudbank near. Scott's wharf last Saturday, and had to await the rising tide. The launch was chartered to bring the hockey teams to Hobsonville. The town team hired nether launch, and arrived late.
