ELECTRICAL WORKERS.
A DISPUTE SETTLED.
[bt telegraph.—pbjess association.] ■,___; - - WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Ax agreement has been arrived at by the Conciliation Council in regard to the elec- ; trical workers' dispute. The hours of labour fixed are the same as under the old award, namely 45 per week. The same provisions exist regarding suburban and country work as those contained in the recent carpenters' award. The preference clause is on similar lines to the old one. The period for which assistants are to serve his been increased from four to five years, except in the case of an assistant who during the course of five years is. able to secure a certificate of competency. In that case he is entitled to receive the full rate of wages. Wages were fixed at Is 4£d per hour. ;
