NEW ZEALAND ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION. [BY THLEGRAPH,—PRESS ASSOCIATION] Wellington, Monday. The council of the New Zealand • Amateur Athletic Association met to-night. The Wellington centre wrote stating that the resolution had been passed at the - recent meeting expressing confidence in its delegates, and asking the council to give Mr Ross an opportunity of bringing forward certain amendments to the rules. At the previous meeting of the council it had been decided that the rules be printed ■ without further discussion. It was , decided to inform tho Welling- centre that Mr. Ross had had ample opportunity of making any suggestions. A Bible-Class • Union deputation brought forward the matter of professionals competing at its, .annual sports. The council decided that these sports did not come within the association's control, and that therefore the Bible-class Union could hold its sports without permission - from anybody. • i With reference to a letter from the New South Wales Amateur porting- Federation, suggesting that the Dominion bo represented at the Olympic games at Stockholm, it was decided to ask the Empire Festival Commit-too to undertake 'the selection, and procure the necessary funds. Two applications tor reinstatement were refused, and one granted. The records were confirmed of Opie (Christchurch) of 225. for the 220vds fiat, and Keddell (Southland) of 15 3-10s. for "the 120 yds hurdles. The Queensland shield was awarded to Canterbury, who had won seven standards and one record at tho championship meeting. '
