ENGLISH MAIL DELAYS.
THE AUSTRALIAN RAILWAYS.
Complaints are, being made in Sydney regarding delays in bringing tho English mails from Adelaide. The position seems to bo that when a train fails to reach a crossing place at the, appointed time, either the other train must bo allowed, to proceed, or else there will bo two late trains : and these in turn interfere with other crossing arrangements, and the evil accumulates. Therefore, the general practice is, other things being equal, that tho train which is late in the first place has to continue late rather than disturb other services. With a. double lino tho present causes of delay would be removed.
