DOMESTIC TRAINING.
COMPULSORY CLASSES WANTED
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Ceristchttrch, Thursday. Mr. T. E. Taylor, M.P., introduced a deputation from the W.C.T.U. and other societies to the Hon. G. Fowlds this morning, asking for the compulsory training of school girls in domestic work for two and a-half hours a week.
Mr. Fowlds, in reply, said this work was partly done now at the continuation classes, but. there had been so much opposition to the proposal from employers that the Department had to modify their proposals. Still they had done something in that direction. He thought the continuation classes should bo used. The deputation's proposals were too big an order.
