A MYSTERIOUS DEATH.
THE KINGSLAND AFFAIR.
OPENING OF THE INQUEST.
The mysterious death of a young woman in a private house at Kingsland was the subject of an inquest which was opened yesterday before Mr. Gresham, district Coroner, and which was adjourned niter evidence of identification had been given.
The only witness called was Clara Gertrude Holland, who identified the body as that of her sister, Elsie Alexandra Holland. The deceased was unmarried, was about 25 years of age, and had been lady help to ii family at Epsom. Witness last saw the deceased alive and well at 9.30 p.m. on Sunday.
Mr. R. A. Singer, who was present on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. CTShaughnesaey, the owners of the house in which the deceased died, asked to be allowed to further examine the witness, as his clients were affected in an important degree by the matter. The Coroner, however, stated that at the present stage only evidence of identification could bo received.
The inquest was adjourned until Juno 30, when it is expected that the police will have secured some evidence of unusual interest and seriousness.
