MINING ACCIDENTS.

Waihi, Thursday. A miner named Thomas Bryden, working in the Waihi mine, received a severe injury to bis ankle to-day whilst engaged in barring down quartz. The accident was caused by a large lump of quartz coming suddenly away. W. Bennetts, the miner who was injured in the Waihi mine six weeks ago. is now in a precarious condition at the hospital, and his family has been summoned. Bennetts, when barring down ground, was severely strained internally.
