CONCLUSION OF THE INQUEST,

Sydney, May 24. At the inquiry touching the deaths oj Mr. and Mrs. Segar Bastard and child to-day, Mr. Williamson appeared for New Zealand relatives.
Dr. Palmer stated that Bastard's braid wag (ho largest lie had ever seen or known to bo recorded. He was unable to saj that such a brain would incline toward insanity. If it, was correct that mone.y had been received - by deceased from New Zealand, and there was no cause for won"* on that occasion, thcro would be strong suspicion of insanity. Mrs. Bastard's brother gave evidence that he had not known deceased to M short of money.
A verdict was returned that the death} were duo to prussic acid administered bj Segar and Evelyn Bastard, the Coronet expressing the opinion that Segar Bastard was of unsound mind at the timo.
