The Auckland Provincial Bowling Associalion has arranged the first-year players' championship and club executives' match, to take placo at Easter. Tho entries for both ©vents close on April 10. The Ponsonby Bowling Olub has invited tho Tar&naki bowlers to play matches at their green when in Auckland, en route'to Sydney. Tho party will leavo New Plymouth next Friday, and will arrive at Onehunga next, morning, and probably play at Ponsonby during tho afternoon, Mr. A. M. Bry'den, secretary of the Auckland Provincial Bowling Association, will leave by "tho Rotorua express this morning, for the purpose of paying a business visit •to tho East Coast towns. The clubs in the Auckland province not affiliated with the Northern Bowling Association have received a circular letter from the secretary of that, body, which urges the formation of a United Bowling Association for the North Island. Seventy clubs are now affiliated. The clubs, in being asked to affiliate, are assured that their status will not be affected, and that the proposed rules make provision for the formation of district associations or centres, and if after affiliation with the Northern Association the clubs consider it more desirable to remain connected with the Auckland Provincial Bowling Association, that body could bo made the district association. The circular concludes by stating that the council of tho Northern" Bowling Association is now in correspondence with the New Zealand Bowling Association with a view to forming an association for the whole of New Zealand.
