ILLEGAL LIQUOR SALES.
LESS THAN TWO GALLONS. [by TELEGRATH.OWN correspondent.] - V Eotorita, Monday. " 'At the Magistrate's Court to-day P. B. Ross, , wholesale 'snirit merchant, was charged with seven breaches of the Licensing Act in selling quantities of liquor of 'less than two, gallons in May last. The Crown Prosecutor withdrew two of the charges. Ross then pleaded guilty to the five remaining charges, and was fined £5 on each, of three and £2 10s on each of the other two, together with costs, £9 Bs.' The license was not endorsed. Ross is env deavouring to dispose of his business owing to ill-health:
R. McGregor was fined £2 find £1 8s costs for being on Ross's premises on Sunday. .
Charles Stewart was fined £2 for supplying liquor to Maoris for consumption off the premises; -
