Tlio driver succeeded in reaching his seat, but, find- .. ing that he was .'unable to stop the horse, ~, he jumped off. The horse swerved into is Roxburgh-street, and struck the shop of a * storekeeper, breaking a verandah post, and also the shop window. The axle of the cart was broken by the impact.
