THE MOTOR CAR RUN.

ROADS IN BAD CONDITION.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT,

Roto kit A, Saturday.

Messrs. A. E. Moors, W. Souteiv F. O. .Farrcll, J. C. Hardio, and .their parties? had a good motor run to Napier. '.Mr. Hardie, with Mr. Spinks, returned from. Napier yesterday in his 20-h.p. .Hupmobile, coming right through from Napier to Rotoriia in running time of eight hours. The Waindiei-Napier road is in good order, hub the Rotorua town roads are in a wretched state. Messrs G. F. Gardner, and W. J. Parker left her© yesterday for Hamilton, Mr. 0. W. Spragg left for Waitomo via*-. Okoroire, and Mr. R. A. Dexter and party, and Messrs. Kiug.swell and Waller, arrived! from Wairakei. Mr. G. M. White leaves for Hamilton to-day.

Practically all members of the Auckland Automobile Association will bo hack in town by Tuesday evening. The 500 and! more miles of road they have traversed; 1 this Christmas have been bad. They are not fair roads for any car to travel, and it says much for the quality and design oil : the cars that they came through with so. little trouble. The weather has been good,, the scenery has been good, the hotels, and all other arrangements' have been good but the cry of the North Island motorist/, in the Auckland province now, and its' seems for all time, is for roads, good roads or even fair roads.
