FALSE PRETENCES.
ONE MONTH IN GAOL.

Te Awamdtt;, Friday. At the Police Court yesterday, before Messrs. Elm sly and North, J.P.'s, Robert King, alias Percy Godfrey Peiherick, was changed with, ob taining £5 under false pretences from Mr, A. L. Higgins, of Pirongia; .{also, with the theft of £6 6s in June, 1909, at Wellington, the property of Hugh Doug-.ase. Accused was sentenced to one month's hard labour in the Terrace Gaol, Wellington, on the former charge, and for theft was remanded to appeal" at Wellington on; January 6, 1911. Since the accused committed the first offence he has been bushfelling in the Eawhia, district. Petherick was arrested in Te Awamuta by Constable Lander on Wednesday.
