BLOODSTOCK SALE.

Therb was on attendance of over 500 at Mr. J. Williamson's stables, Campbell Road, Ellerslie, yesterday, when Mr. H. O. Nolan, on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, conduced a bloodstock sale. Amongst those present were a, number of visiting sportsmen and breeders. Tho first nine lots offered belonged to Mr. "Win. Patterson, of Motiti Island, and comprised yearlings and two-year-olds, most of whom were by the Sapphire sire Motiti. Eight lota were disposed of for 198gns., the best figure reached being 60gns., for a racylooking yearling colt named Allworthy, by Motiti from the now famous Tauriki.

Six lots were submitted by. the Kai Twi breeder, Mr. G. M. Currie, five of the lots being by Field Battery. Competition was keenest for a yearling by Field Battery from Our Lady, a brother to Bronze, who lias been winning of late. This nice-looking youngster reached 120gns., at which figure he was knocked down to the To Awamutui owner Mr. A. 11. Dingle. In all, the six lots brought 277gns.

Mr. H. "R. Mackenzie, of the Ascot Stud Farm, offered five lots, four of which were disposed of for a total of 162 gns., the main contributor to this sum being- a sturdy diestnut yearling colt by Monoform—Daffodil, which was secured by the Gistoorne ei>ortsman, Mr. F. Looinb, for lOOgns.

Mr. W. Dunn, of Rosedalo Park, Pokekohe, sold three out of five lota for 106gne.

Mr. Donald McEimion disposed of oae lot, and withdrew another. Three yearling!! by Powerful, brother to Seahorse, were placed under the hammer by Mr. J. D. Kemp, of Awhitu, the trio bringing in 68gns. Of this lot one was a half-brother to Electrakoff, which went cheaply at 39gna. to the owner of the latter.

The Messrs. E. and E. Duder parted with two out of six lots for 42gns. Two hundred guineas was offered for a brown filly by —Cuirasette, at whiah figure the yearling was xassed, tie Messrs. Duder expecting at least 250gns. Pour out of th<> five lots submitted by Mr. E. P. Paul, of Mangere, were passed, a two-year-old half-brother to Ngapuka realising 40gns. Mr. E. W. Alison sold two lots for 41gns. The. successful matron Cloud, dam of Lady Patricia and others, was disposed of for 15gns". In all 32 lots out of 45 were sold for 997gn5.. an average of 31 5-32gns. each.
