RIFLE SHOOTING.
WAIKATO MOUNTED RIFLES.
[FBOM OlOi OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Friday. On* Boxing Day the No. 3 Company Waikato Mounted Rifles fired for the trophies presented by Messrs. Hurrell, Nicholas, and Simpson on the Cambridge range, the, conditions being seven shots each at 200 yds, 500 yds, and 600yd:s. The day "was not a good one for shooting, a, strong and very tricky wind prevailing most of the day ; but notwithstanding this the winner, Lieutenant Simpson, put up a score of 93 out of a possible 105, and Lieutenant Bruce was runner-up with 91, boi;h being on the scratch mark.
