On Thursday, November 11, at the Wesffield Yards, we held our weekly sale of dairy and store cattle. There was a good yarding and prices were the same. Dairy cows and heifers close to profit sold at from £5 10s to £8 17a 6d; others, more backward, £4 10s to £5; empty cows ami heifers, £3 to £3 18s ; calves, 20s to £1 16s. At the Albert-street Yards on Friday we held our opening sale. There was a large yarding of horses of all classes, which sold at late rates. Heavy draught horses sold at from £25 to £36; medium do., £19 10s to £25 15s; horses suitable for butchers' or bakers' carts, to £17. The unbroken draught colts sold at from . £19 10s to £33; light harness horses and hacks, £8 lOs to £17; Shetland ponies, to £14 ss: gig, horse, and harness, £23; spring-cart, £10. At the Westfleld Yards on Wednesday we held our weekly sale of fat stock. There was a good yarding of fat cattle, which pold at fully last week's rates, ox beef selling to 26s per 1001b and cow £1 to £1 3s. Steers sold at from £7 5s to £14 15s; cows and heifers, £3 5s to £9 2s 6d. Fat calves were penned in email numbers and sold at from 3s to £1 18s. The sheep pens were well filled and sold at lower rates. Best shorn wethers sold to 20s 9d, others 14s 6d to 18s 9d; ewes. 8s 9d to 158 9d. Lambs were yarded in large numbers and sold at late rates. Extra well fatted, 18« to £1 2s; others, 14s to 17a 6d; lighter sqrls, 12u to 13s 6d. Pigs were penned in usual numbers and declined in ' prices. Young heavy spring cart and lorry class sold at from £53 to £42; aged, and worn draughts, £11 to £27 10a; bakers' and grocers' cart class, ' £16 5s to £28 buggy horses and good hacks, £16 10s to £25 10»; light harness and ordinary riding sorts, £5 15s to £12; gig ponies, £4 10s to £10; weeds, all prices; three to four-year light to medium colts realised from £11 10s to £28. At our Westfield fat stock market, on Wednesday, beef totalled 393 head. Competition was steady throughout, last week's advance being maintained. Ox beef, £13s to £1 5s 6d; cow and heifer, 19s to £1 4s. steers ranged In price, £7. 2s 6d to £15 ss; cows and heifers, £4 to £9 10s. In consequence of the short supply of calves, prices improved. Heavy, £2 10s to £2 19s; choice suckers, £1 14s to £2 ss; medium to light, 18s to £1 10s: small and fresh dropped, 5s to 13s (55 sold). There was a full entry of fat sheep, but the demand was limited. A few pens of extra prime wethers sold within a Is of last quotations, but taking the sale on the whole, there was a drop of 3s. per head.
