ATHLETICS.
AUCKLAND CLUB'S CARNIVAL. The officials of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club are sparing no effort to make tho gathering fixed for December 3 a success. No further reply has been received from Harding, but as his parents reside in Auckland it is thought ho will endeavour to obtain leave. A 1000 yds race between Hill and Harding would bo worth going a long way to see, for both men aro really fine middledistauce runners. The appearance of Woodger at the carnival is also problematical. The entries for all carnival events close next Saturday with the secretary at. the Amateur Sports Club. The King's College gymnasium competitions will be held on Wednesday afternoon next.
