ROAD FORMATION.
LOAN FOR KOMATA NORTH. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COBBESPONDENT.] Paeeoa, Wednesday. A meeting of the Komata North eettlers was held at Hikutaia on Monday to consider a proposal to raise a loan over a special rating district, for the purpose of forming and metalling roads. Eighteen settlers were present, and they were met by Mr. P. Grace (chairman of the Ohinemuri County Council), Mr. C. Barry (engineer to the Ohinemuri County Council), and Mr. R. W. Evans (clerk to the County Council), Mr. Grace presided at the meeting. The estimate submitted by the county engineer for forming and metalling the roads was as —Robinson's Road from Komata North Road to Railway £558 9s, Kaimanawa Road from railway to river £661, Komati North Road £1384, Vedders Road £306. Total £2909 9s. It was unanimously decided to form a special rating district and borrow the sum of £3000 for forming and metalling the above roads, and the necessary legal steps will be taken in hand at once.
