BOOKS FOR COUNTRY SCHOOLS.
The Literature Committee of the Victoria League have despatched to five country schools boxes of books (purchased and donated), and valued at an average of £2 each. Waipn Cove and Bream Tail, Maungatapere, Mareretu, Taupo and Tangowahine are the recipients. The committee has to thank for donations of books :—Mesdames E. Horton, Leo. Myers, C. V. Houghton, Dawes, Biss, Rollett, Edger, Gordon, Misses Henderson, Peacock, and Keesing, and Mr. Wcodhouse, and is indebted to Sargood, Son, and Ewen, and Entrican and Company for the gift of packing cases for the same.
