The Wellington centre is angry with the governing body for ignoring the recommendations of a conference, of delegates from swimming centres, hetcl at Auckland in February. The mutter was broached by Mr. G. S. Hill, who contended that the action of the council was tantamount to ignoring the existence of the conference. The council owed its position to the centres, and'if the present delegates could not look after the interests of their respective centres in a more satisfactory manner others should bo found who would. Matters that affected every swimmer in the Dominion were discussed, and the speaker felt that the centres were being ignored for some ulterior reason.
