An improved tone prevailed on the sharemarket on Saturday. In investment stocks a sale was mado in Auckland Gas (old) at £3 6s, and moro were offered at the same price, with buyers at Is less. In mining lines Waihis improved, selling at from £9 2s to £9 2s 6d to £9 2s, as against £9 Is 6d, the last sale recorded on Friday. There were further buyers at £9 Is 6d, sellers at £9 2s 6d. Grand Junctions also showed an upward tendency. As compared with 28s, the last .-ale recorded ■ the previous day,, shares wp'e :c:!d at from 28s to 29s 6d to 295, the market closing with buyers at 28s 9d, sellers at 295. Talismans were disposed of at 53s 6d, there being further buyers at the same price, with sellers at 545. Waihi Extendeds wore dealt in at 2s 7d; Crowns at from 3s 9d to 33 lid and Old Haurakis at 3s 6d.
