FIFTY HORSES IN A RACE.

TO BE RUN IN HEATS.

[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

CiißiSTCiruKCn, Thursday. A curious position has arisen in connection with the Ladies' Bracelet Handicap, to be decided at the New Brighton Trotting Club's meeting, on Saturday next. There are 50 acceptors, and as it would be obviously dangerous, if not impossible, to start all the horses at once, the club decided to run two heats and a final. The question then arose as to how the totalisator should be operated, and it has been decided to open the machine separately for each heat, close it for the final, and then pool the investments and pay out on first and second horses in the final heat. One or two owners. object to running the race in heats, and may apply for a refund of the race fees.
