Sir,— would consider it a favour if yo*. would allow mo space in your paper to say: Do you not think it is very hard on ft volunteers, especiallythose living in Oneliunga and surrounding districts, to have to pay tram fares for three nights a week recruit drill? I think you will agree with pie in thinking that this state of affairs does not -encourage " would-be soldiers,' whoso wages are not high enough to allow them to spend so much on tram fares. _ _ .
