OLD HAURAKI. MANAGER'S REPORT. Reporting for the week ending February 18 the manager of the Old llauraki mine states that- at the 400 ft level the drive on the new reef had been advanced 3ft, the total distance from the junction .of the Green Harp reef being 21ft. The country had become harder,. but was improving again. The reef was from 6in to Sin in width. No gold was seen during the week. On the Green Harp reef the drive was advanced 3ft 6in. The reef was from 4in to 2ft in width. The country was continuing favourable, though no gold had yet been se-?n. The intermediate drive was advanced !3ft, •making 15ft from the end of the rise and 25ft on the run of gold, 401I> of specimen stone being secured, with gold left showing in two places. The reef had been somewhat smaller, but now appeared to bo making stronger again. On the new reef at the 300 ft, level the drive wap advanced 7ft, making a total distance from the Green Harp reef of 24ft. Twelve pounds of specimen stone were secured, and gold was left showing in the back of the drive. The portion of the reef carrying the gold was from 2in to 3in in width, and in . the manager's opinion should make stronger as the drive advances. The drive south on the Green Harp reef was advanced sft, making a total distance of 257 ft from the winze. No gold was seen during the week. *" Four stopes were in progress. The reef in places was 18in in width. Blotches of gold continued to bo seen at each breaking down, .and gold was also showing in several places. • *
