Wellington*. Monday. Whilst there was a disposition for higher prices to rule early ' lust week for both apples and pears, a heavy decline has taken placo in values. Choice dessert apples advanced as high as lis per ease, but are now ruling at 7s to 8s (prime), 6» to 6s 9d. Pears are in over-supply at 4s to 5s per case for dessert varieties ; prime are selling at 3s to 3s 6d. .Other prices are: Plume, choice, 2s 6d to 3s box (prime), Is 6d to 2s; nectarines,' 5s to 5s 6d per half-case; greengages, 5s to 5s 6d; peaches, choice 5s to 5s 6d per half-case, prime 3s 6d to 4s6d; lemons, 5s 6d to 6s; passions, in heavy supply, at 2s to 2s 6d. The first supplies of Sydney grapes arrived lust week, but being small only realised 4d to 5d per 11), Local choice are selling at 9d to Is per lb, and prime at 7d to Bd. i Quinces are worth 3s 6d to 4s 6d per,.case.' Potatoes arc in heavy supply at 5s to 5s 6d per cwt for prime. Onions are offering freely, selling at 5s to 5s 6d per cwt; cauliflowers, 4s to 6s per sack; cabbages, 4s to 5s per sack : lettuce, 1« 6d to 2s 6d per ■ case; Cape. gooseberries, 5d to 6d per lb; marrows, Is 6d to 2s 6d per sack ; pumpkins, 5s to 7s per sack. Fresh eggs are scarce and the market has further advanced to Is 6d per dozen; preserved, Is 3d.
