TRESS ASSCCXAXtO3f-3 | : Chbistchcech, Sunday. ■"■{•■: Splesmo shooting was made by members . of the Lyttelton detachment ,'. who. at the conclusion of their 10 days* camp, carried out their annual class-firing at Fort Jervcis, on Thursday last. Two series fired from the 6in h.l. h.p. guns, were remarkable for the accuracy - and rapidity of the shooting. The firing was '; done under the superintendence of Lisu•j tenant Sandle, officer commanding, and 1 1 the results are' stated to ..'establish a record ' * for New Zealand for the class of gun. In the first series six shots were fired from 'the 6in gun, and five "hits" were scored," the average time per round being 42 i seconds. The standard time per round As T55 seconds, so , that it will be seen that } I the shooting was done in exceptionally fast time. -.. The results, of the "second series were even better than the first. Six shots were fired, and all registered "hits,", while the average' time; round:.was I only 57 seconds,. which is phenomenally enly 57 seconds, which is phenomenally fast, and is, "arecord for the Dominion. "
