-Highway Boards Notices. ' M ANUREWA. ROAD BOARD. TRAFFIC BY-LAWS. _ Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Manurewa Road Board, held on the 24th day of January, 1910, the iollowing resolution was passed, and will oe submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of Board, to be held on MOM DAY. the fourteenth day of March, 1910, at 7.30 p.m.,. at the Road Board Office, Railway Road, Manurewa:— In pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by " The Road Boards Act. 1908," and by "The Public Works Act, 1908," and the various Acts amending the same, and all other Acts and powers it in this behalf enabling, the Manurewa Road, Board doth hereby make and ordain by Special Order the By-laws following, to come into force oi! tho Ist day of May, 1910: — . Here follows the By-laws of which the objects or purport are as stated below. ■ The* first paragraph gives the definition of the following words used in the By-laws:— ) ' District," " Board," " Clerk," " Vehicle," Heavy Traffic," Owner," " Road." or ' Road in the District." , The second paragraph calls the By-laws The Traffic By-laws of the Manurewa Road Board," and applies them to the whole Road District. The By-laws further provide as follows: 1. No person shall without the Board's written permission engage in Heavy Traffic on any road during May, June, July, August, and September of any year. 2. No person shall during the above months engage, use, or employ in traffic, on any road any vehicle having a load exceeding (a) scwt if a two-wheeled - vehicle, or (b) lOcwt if a four-wheeled vehicle, unless the number of wheels and width of tires of such vehicle in proportion to Che animals drawing the same comply with the following scale:— Four-wheeled Vehicles. ■ Without springs: With springs: No. of No. of Animals. Person authorised by Board or police may stop any vehicle to examine and measure tires or measure and compute weight of load, and person in charge of vehicle refus- i ing permission for or hindering or preventing the examination or measurement shall be j guilty of an offence. 5. No person shall allow timber or heavy I substances to be dragged on or conveyed along a road unless raised wholly above the ground on wheels. 6. No person shall damage or drive with a Wheel in any water-table on a road. 7. The Board may require by notice any person engage! in heavy traffic to enter into a ' bond with or without sureties and in a penalty fixed by the Board not exceeding £200 for repairing and making good to the Board's satisfaction any special damage resulting therefrom, and until compliance herewith no such person shall engage in heavy traffic. 8. No person shall use or drive on any road any traction or other engine having any metal stud piece or ring attached to or raised upon the level of the face of any tire of any wheel for the purpose or having the effect of sinking into, gripping, or breaking the surface of any bridge, culvert, or metalled road. <" 9. No owner, driver or person in charge of any traction or other engine shall take it across a bridge unless he first place planka at least 3 inches thick across such bridge, and the wheels be made to pass along and be supported by such planks. The last paragraph of the By-laws provide a penalty not exceeding £5 for a breach, or for a continuing breach a penalty not exceeding £5 per day or part thereof while the breach continues. A copy of the proposed Special Order and By-laws is deposited at the Office of the Board. Railway Road, Manurewa, and is open to the inspection of the ratepayers during office hours for the thirty days immediately preceding the meeting at which the Special Order is to bo confirmed. D. A. RELD, Clerk. ■OEMUERA ROAD BOARD Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Remuera Road Board will be held at the Board's' , Offices. Remuera Road, Remuera, on MONDAY, the s 7th day ol March, 1910, at half-past seven o clock in the evening, when the following resolution which was passed at a Special Meeting of the said Board on the 31st day of January. 1910, will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order:— " In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in' that behalf by the * Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908,' the .Remuera Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £8500, authorised to be raised by the Remuera Road Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of Drainage of the Special Rating Area hereinafter men- •'.-■' tioned, the said Remuera Road Board hereby makes and levies a Special Bate .'-■"'•':' of Five-eighths of a Penny (Id) in the £ upon the ratable value of all ratable property of the Special. Rating Area, comprising all that parcel of land in the Remuera Road District in the County of Eden commencing at the junction of Brighton and Remuera Roads, bounded generally on the Southwest by the Remuera 'Road, on the West and North-west generally by the * boundary lines of the Boroughs of Newmarket and Parnell, and on the North and North-east by '■Ayr-street. and Beach Road to its intersection by Arney Road, thence generally on tne North-east and South-east by Arney Road to the intersection of Brighton • Road, and thence by Brighton Road to the commencing point, excepting, however, Allotment 24 of Section 4 of the Suburbs of Auckland, and that such Special Rate Shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 30th., day of November .in each and : every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period, of Forty-two Years or until the loan is fully paid off." • By Order of the Remuera Road Board. Notice is hereby given that at a Meeting of the Mount Albert Road Board, to be held on the- Ist day»of March, 1910, at 7.30 p.m., at the Office of the Board, New North Road. On and after Ist March. 1910, all Cattle and Calves or Horses, etc., running or grazing on the roads or reserves of the district without the permission of the Road Board will be impounded or proceedings taken against the owners, and no cattle or horses must be loft out on the roads after sunset or before sunrise. - . Anyone requiring to get scoria from the Mount Wellington Quarry Reserve must get a written or printed order from Mr. H. Durbridge, who has the key of the gate leading into the same, except those who written permits from the Board.
