HOUSES "TO LET."

Wellington, Sunday. The significent sign, "To Let," is now to be seen displayed on an unusually large number of houses in Wellington. The advertising columns of last night's Post contain an interesting indication of the state of trade, so far as empty houses are concerned. • In, one column no fewer than 216 houses are notified as being to let, the majority ranging from four rooms up to eight; and nine rooms. Some 150 are unfurnished. In another part of the paper tenants are sought for about 80 houses, some of which are furnished and some unfurnished. There are thus a total of about 300 houses shown to be empty, but it is , possible that some houses may be advertised by more than one agent.
